New Year, New You Event ~ Victory Hall, Aboyne ~17th January 2019
Well, the snow fell but our Members turned up in their numbers from Lumphanan, Tarland , Aboyne , Ballater and Braemar! Everyone received a warm welcome and Members chatted over coffee and shortbread while registering for taster sessions. Due to amount of snow fall it was deemed unsafe to hold the E-Bike (Electric Bike) session. However as there was so much demand for this we will be putting on another session when the weather improves and will keep all interested updated. Other successful taster sessions included Indian Head Massage and Reflexology for local therapist Jen O'Brien Reflexology. We had Jen for Tangletree Studio in Aboyne providing feelgood crafts and Danielle also from Aboyne doing music and movement classes to keep everyone warm. For those brave enought to go outside Dawn provided a magical guided walk. Lindsay from Community Learning and Development at Deeside Community Centre talked to Members about their STEPS to Excellence programme which is a confidence and self motivation programme. We were lucky enough to have Laura from One to One Counselling on hand as well as Sue from the Melt Method and Mike from Aboyne Mens Shed. Soup and bread provided by the Corner House in Aboyne fuelled everyone up before we finished up. Lots of positive feedback from Members means we are now looking at programmes to establish on some of these taster sessions and some new ideas to look into.
